This Home Office link leads to two tools, in which users can see crime data in many formats. The first, the tabulation tool allows the user to directly manipulate data-sets of crime figures, and if required allows the user to view results in the form of charts or tables. Data can be analysed down to local authority level and offence groups. The second, a crime mapping tool allows users to create maps showing counts and rates of crime at local authority level for England and Wales, allowing users to examine and compare levels and trends in local authorities
